Hawaii Electric Light Co. crews are working on a transmission line upgrade project along Highway 190 from the Waikoloa Junction to Puaanahulu, in the vicinity of mile markers 15 and 18.

One lane will be closed to traffic from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays, except holidays. Motorists are encouraged to drive with caution through the construction area. Delays of about 15 minutes or less are anticipated, and motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes, if possible.

The closure will allow crews to upgrade transmission lines and equipment to improve system reliability. The project is expected to be completed around July 31.
